About Revanth Reddy

Anumula Revanth Reddy, born on November 8, 1969, is an Indian politician currently serving as the Chief Minister of Telangana since December 7, 2023. He represents the Kodangal assembly constituency and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). Revanth Reddy began his political career with grassroots involvement, winning a local Zila Parishad Territorial Constituency election in 2006. Initially, he joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in 2010. In the 2014 Telangana Assembly elections, he won the Kodangal seat with a significant margin. Due to internal party issues, he left TDP in 2016 and joined the INC in 2018. He further expanded his political influence by winning the 2019 general election from the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency by over 10,000 votes. As a leader within the INC, he was appointed President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee before becoming Chief Minister. Revanth Reddy’s political trajectory includes a transition from regional party affiliations to a prominent role within the national party framework, culminating in his current leadership of Telangana. His tenure as Chief Minister marks him as the second person to hold this office since the state's formation. Prior to this, he was known for his active participation in Telangana’s political landscape and his close association with key regional leaders during the Telangana statehood movement.
